Pottery wheel

prototype built

design / welding / powder coating / concrete flywheel / assembly

For ceramicist Jana Honnerová (KERAMIKON) we designed and built a kick pottery wheel with a concrete flywheel. We build it in two versions: kick only, or kick with a motor. Price on request.

Main advantages

The large flywheel is the basis of the potter’s craft. You can spin it not only with the motor (clockwise and counter-clockwise), but also in the traditional way, by kicking. That is excellent for trimming and for various details.

Thanks to the way it is built, the wheel stays very quiet even when the motor is used. The motor switches on only when the pedal is pressed, otherwise it is off. That suits a shared studio as well as use at home.

For comfort and a healthy back, the height of the seat and of the wheel head is easy to adjust. The wheel can thus be set for anyone.
